'Getting' Away With It
Modern rock act Simple Plan this week unleashes its sophomore album, "Still Not Getting Any...," for Lava Records. The Bob Rock-produced set is led by the single "Welcome to My Life," which is No. 26 on Billboard's Top 40 Mainstream chart.
"The main reason why we chose Bob was because we wanted to make sure our new album sounded closer to our live sound and that's exactly what we're achieving," says lead singer Pierre Bouvier. "The new songs are a natural progression from our earlier album and we really pushed ourselves to write the best songs we could, both lyrically and musically."
"Still Not Getting Any" is the follow-up to 2002's "No Pads, No Helmets... Just Balls," which entered The Billboard 200 at No. 183 but eventually climbed to No. 35 in January of this year. The set has sold more than 1.7 million copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
Simple Plan begins a North American tour Oct. 30 in Denver.
