Sarah McLachlan's last leg of touring behind her latest Arista album, "Afterglow," is off to a rough start. According to her official Web site , the artist is suffering from laryngitis and was forced to postpone two shows earlier this week in Victoria, B.C., and has also called off area gigs tonight (April 15) in Kamloops and tomorrow in Kelowna.
The Victoria shows have been rescheduled for June 7-8, while Kelowna and Kamloops are set for June 10-11. Tickets for the postponed concerts will be honored at the new dates. The tour is expected to resume Monday in Spokane, Wash.
McLachlan recently told Billboard.com the upcoming tour will feature a few new additions to the set list. "I have the songs that I love to play and I have the songs I would be happy to never do again," she said. "I have to be honest to myself but also take into consideration what the fans are going to want to hear. And I'm very conscious of the fact that even though these are secondary markets, we are doing New York again, we are doing Los Angeles again and I don't want to put on the same show, so we've reworked some of the songs."
In other news, McLachlan has re-recorded her single "World on Fire" with former the Band principal Robbie Robertson for use in the upcoming TNT series "Into the West." Executive-produced by Steven Spielberg, the program will premiere June 10. McLachlan and Robertson will also appear in a music video that features footage from the series.
