'Even Super Man had to sleep!' Cannon tweets
Nick Cannon has announced that he has stepped down as the host of "Cannon's Countdown," his syndicated radio show, after doctors discovered blood clots in his lungs.
"A bitter sweet morning. I have to stop my radio show. Doctors orders," Cannon posted on Twitter on Friday morning (Feb. 17). "The Doctors found blood clots in my lungs and said if I don't slow down and stop working so hard then it's a wrap!"
The 31-year-old began hosting "Cannon's Countdown" in April 2011. In addition to the radio gig, Cannon serves as the host of NBC's "America's Got Talent," starred in the Showtime comedy special "Mr. Showbiz" last spring, and is working on a new music full-length.
Cannon was hospitalized last month for mild kidney failure, and his wife, Mariah Carey , publicly asked for prayers. However, the actor/comedian said that he was fully recovered and "100 percent feeling good" at the Super Bowl earlier this month.
