Usher  notches his 12th No. 1 on R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, as "Climax" steps 2-1 with 31 million audience impressions (up 8%), according to Nielsen BDS. The song is Usher's first single from his forthcoming seventh studio album, "Looking for Myself," due June 12.
"Climax" extends Usher's lead for the most No. 1s on R&B/Hip-Hop Songs during the Nielsen Music era (since December 1992). Among all acts in that span, Drake , Jay-Z  and R. Kelly  rank second with nine leaders each. Following label restructuring, "Climax" marks Usher's first charted title and first No. 1 as an RCA-credited artist after a two-decade association with LaFace.
At No. 2, Rihanna 's sexually-charged "Birthday Cake," featuring Chris Brown , continues its ascent, rising 3-2 with a sweet 10% increase to 28 million in audience. Beyoncé 's "Love on Top" falls 1-3 after seven weeks on top. Of her six No. 1s, she has led longer only with "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)" (12 weeks) and "Irreplaceable" (nine).
Drake's former No. 1 "The Motto," featuring Lil Wayne , remains at No. 4, while LoveRance's "UP!" bullets again at No. 5.
Kirko Bangz's "Drank in My Cup" rises 7-6 with a 9% audience gain to 22 million. The track swaps spots with Brown's "Strip," featuring Kevin K-MAC McCall (6-7). Brown finds himself back-to-back in the top 10, as "Another Round," on which he assists rapper Fat Joe , remains at No. 8 and is blessed with a 15% gain to 21 million.
Travis Porter  celebrates its first R&B/Hip-Hop Songs top 10, as "Ayy Ladies" becomes the chart's Greatest Gainer/Airplay with a 12-9 boost (19 million, up 20%). Since 2010, the group has charted five songs, with "Make It Rain" marking its previous highest-peaking entry (No. 15). Featured artist Tyga  notches his third top 10.
MINAJ HOLDS OFF MONICA: On the R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, Nicki Minaj  continues to occupy the top notch with "Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded," despite a 68% decrease to 81,000 in sales, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
At No. 2, Monica  debuts her latest set "New Life" (69,000). The album is Monica¹s fifth straight to debut at either Nos. 1 or 2. Charted singles from "New Life" include "Anything (To Find You)," featuring Rick Ross , which peaked at No. 25 on R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, and "Until It's Gone" (No. 22 peak). Currently, the album's third single, "It All Belongs to Me," a follow-up to Monica's iconic 1998 duet with Brandy , "The Boy Is Mine," ranks at No. 50 after peaking at No. 23. The inspiration for "New Life"? Monica's started one: she married Shannon Brown of the NBA's Phoenix Suns after he played her love interest in her 2010 video for "Love All Over Me."
Long Island, N.Y.,'s Hoodie Allen debuts his self-distributed album "All American" at No. 3 on R&B/Hip-Hop Albums (27,000). The former Google employee is currently unsigned and has no prior Billboard chart history.
Drake's "Take Care" dips 2-4 in its 22nd week, while the "Think Like a Man" soundtrack debuts at No. 5 (13,000). The movie, which opened Friday (April 20), features a host of hit acts, including Jennifer Hudson , John Legend  and Kelly Rowland . The last multi-artist movie soundtrack to debut in the R&B/Hip-Hop Albums top five was "Notorious," which began at No. 1 in January 2009.
