The Group Performs as Alexa Vega Battles Bad Guys in the Six-Minute Clip
The Bad Boys from Boston are back in a Wild, Wild West-inspired video for "Legendary Child," a story of "America's greatest rock band." A story of struggle, a story of triumph, and, according to the booming voice over the gritty words that crackle across the screen, four decades of battling bad sushi, shark attacks, shady managers, and "everything in between."
Aerosmith's first video following an eight-year hiatus revolves around a roller derby heist, in which the beautiful young heroine (played by "Spy Kids" actress Alexa Vega) goes up against the men in black -- the men who represent the bad sushi, the shark attacks and the shady managers -- as Aerosmith provides the soundtrack and performs against a warehouse backdrop. The video closes with "to be continued," implying that much more is to come from the legendary group.
In a March interview with Billboard , guitarist Joe Perry said that each record Aerosmith makes "always starts with the stuff left over from the last record." Such was the case with "Legendary Child"; the single is 21 years old, dating back to the "Get a Grip" sessions.
Before "Legendary Child" debuted at No. 32 on the Mainstream Rock chart and No. 2 on the Hard Rock Digital Songs chart in June, Aerosmith hadn't seen an entry on the former chart since 2006, when "Devil's Got a New Disguise" reached No. 15. "Legendary Child" will appear on Aerosmith's 15th studio album, "Music From Another Dimension," which drops Nov. 6.
