In hopes to create a "cinematic end result," Anastasio teamed up with producer Peter Katis, who has previously worked with the likes of Interpol , The National and Jonsi , all of which have very sonically full sounds. "My goal was to create an album that uses the studio as an instrument," said Anastasio. "I wanted to work with Peter because he is a master of creating a sonic landscape."
The "sonic landscape" will be painted with hues from guest artists such as Kori Garnder ( Mates of State ) and The National's Bryan Devendorf and Matt Berninger.
Following the album's release, Trey Anastasio and his band will go on a short tour, beginning Oct. 18 at the Filmore in Detroit, and ending Oct. 28 in Port Chester, N.Y. Tickets go on sale Friday, Aug. 16.
