Das Racist are no more. The alternative rap trio of "Combination Pizza Hut and Taco Bell" fame has fractured, with member Heems (Himanshu Suri) announcing at a German solo date that "Das Racist is breaking up and we're not a band anymore."
Kool A.D. (Victor Vazquez) responded to the impromptu announcement by tweeting, "for the record I quit Das Racist two months ago and was asked by our manager not to announce it yet."

The Brooklyn-based group, which has evolved over the past few years from its joke-rap beginnings, earned critical acclaim with their pair of 2010 mixtapes, "Shut Up, Dude" and "Sit Down, Man." The trio collaborated with a bevy of underground MCs for the projects, including El-P, Roc Marciano and Despot.
Das Racist had been working on a second official studio album. Debut set "Relax" was released to critical acclaim in October 2011, topping the Heatseekers Albums chart and reaching No. 12 on Rap Albums. The video for first single "Michael Jackson" featured a King of Pop impersonator and spoofed the star's "Black & White" video," complete with tribal dancing and a face morphing scene:
But it all began in 2008 with the bizarre joke song about two friends trying to find each other at a combination Pizza Hut and Taco Bell:
"I'm at the Pizza Hut" ("No you aint!") "I'm at the Taco Bell" ("No, I'm over here") "I'm at the combination Pizza Hut and Taco Bell" ("I don't see you!")
