Roger Waters tops the Hot Tours rankings with over $51 million in box office grosses reported during the past week from various fall dates on The Wall Tour. This week's reported totals come from 22 arenas that hosted the tour from October to November. Three of the arenas had three-show runs including Philadelphia's Wells Fargo Center that produced the top gross of $5.4 million from sellout crowds totaling 39,280 on Nov. 8-9 & 11. Staples Center in Los Angeles also sold out three concerts (Nov. 29-30 & Dec. 5) with an overall gross that fell $65,590 shy of the Philly haul. The best-attended three-show engagement was in Mexico City at the Palacio de los Deportes (Sports Palace) where a total of 42,864 fans filled the arena for sold out shows on Dec. 18-19 & 21.
Four arenas brought in The Wall Tour for two-show runs. Tops among those venues was the Izod Center in East Rutherford, N.J. (Nov. 3-4) where 25,690 tickets were sold generating a gross of $3.3 million, just $64,270 more than the total from the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif. that hosted Waters' tour on Dec. 13-14 with 23,854 in attendance. HP Pavilion in San Jose, Calif. (Dec. 6, 8) and Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, N.Y. (Oct. 12-13) also filled the house with sellout crowds for two performances.
Most of the arenas, however, had The Wall Tour for just a single evening, and of those 15 venues, the Tacoma Dome in Tacoma, Washington drew the largest crowd: 19,785 for a sellout on Dec. 11. The 23,000-seat Tacoma Dome, located just 30 miles south of Seattle, is the largest arena among all 22 of the reported venues that contributed to Roger Waters' No. 1 ranking on this week's list of Hot Tours.
