Seattle folk rockers Fleet Foxes  have announced the release of their sophomore album, "Helplessness Blues." The album, the quintet's follow-up to their 2008 self-titled debut, will be released May 3 on Sub Pop/Bella Union Records.
"Helplessness Blues" was both mixed and co-produced by Phil Ek (Band of Horses , Built to Spill ), with the band sharing the producing credit. Recording took place at Avast Recording, Bear Creek Studios, Dreamland Studios and Reciprocal Recording over the course of a year.
Three days before the album's release, Fleet Foxes will kick off a North American tour in Vancouver. The bandhas also mapped out a brief European trek that begins May 25 in Berlin, Germany. The first round of general tickets go on sale on Feb. 4.
