Every song on the new R.E.M. [1] album, "Collapse Into Now," will be accompanied by a short film created by 11 different filmmakers, among them documentarian Albert Maysles and Michael Stipe [2] himself. Actor James Franco directs two of the films, for "That Someone is You" and "Blue."
Stipe personally curated the Collapse Into Now Film Project. The band's website, remhq.com [3], will release details about when and where the films will be available for viewing over the next several weeks.
