I've noticed something quite interesting on the Billboard Hot 100 that I haven't see highlighted anywhere.
The Norwegian production team StarGate scored five No. 1s in less than a year, from February 2010 through February 2011:
Title, Artist, Date Reached No. 1
While Toscano was clearly blindsided by last night's results, the judges' outrage could be taken as an inadvertent implication that Stefano Langone, left standing next to Toscano, perhaps should have gone home. By praising Toscano and admonishing America for not voting correctly, left unsaid by Randy Jackson, Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler was who should viewers should have voted out instead.
To his credit, Langone Tweeted today , "Very very emotional night for me, for everyone I think. Jus want people to know I wasn't upset about the reactions... Of the judges and audience or even what people are thinking or saying now.
"We create relationships with these people, closer bonds then people will ever know. It's jus super tough...
"To my fans, thank you so much. I know you guys will be wit me whether I stay or not! You as well as me know what I'm capable of specially after this competition!
"Much love always"
What's your reaction to Toscano's elimination and the judges' responses?
With Toscano out of the running, who do you predict to win 'Idol'?
(And, have you noticed that the series has not presented a performance of a song released after 1988 the last three episodes? Perhaps the show will modernize its playlist next week; not since Naima Adedapo sang (and danced to) Rihanna's 2007 Hot 100 No. 1 "Umbrella" has "Idol" offered a song released after its premiere in 2002).
