Following a week where the top 10 on the Billboard 200 albums chart was flush with eight debuts, prepare for things to settle down a bit next week.
It's likely that Adele 's enduring album "21" will sit pretty at No. 1 for an eighth week, while the highest debut will probably come from comedy troupe the Lonely Island . Industry sources say the latter's "Turtleneck & Chain" is aiming for a sales launch somewhere between the 60,000 and 65,000 range by week's end on May 15, which will easily place it in the top five on the tally.
The trio's first set, "Incredibad" in 2009, debuted and peaked at No. 13 off a start of 48,000, according to Nielsen SoundScan. It has since gone on to sell 358,000 copies in the United States.
Other albums looking to make high bows include Christina Perri 's "Lovestrong" and Odd Future 's Tyler, the Creator 's "Goblin," which are both on track to shift perhaps 40,000 to 45,000 copies. Each act is headed for a likely top 10 entry, as will maybe the Cars ' "Move Like This," the iconic pop/rock band's first album since 1987's "Door to Door."
