Consequence is ready for his due. For the past few months, the former affiliate of G.O.O.D. Music has been garnering attention for his comments about his relationship with Kanye West . After a fall out with Kanye West, which he speaks of further in an exclusive interview with Billboard.com, coming tomorrow (July 8), Consequence thought it was best to leave G.O.O.D. Music, which was co-founded by himself and Ye'. In addition to demanding recognition for his past work, the rapper/songwriter is focused on his new solo material.
Before releasing two completely new projects, his mixtape, "M.O.D. 3" (late July) and album, "Get Even," Consequence will release tracks from "Cons TV" "sporadically," as a gift to the fans. One of those tracks is "On My Own," featuring Kid Cudi, written by Cons, produced by Kanye and recorded over a year ago in NYC. Listen to an exclusive stream track of "On My Own" here:

Consequence began his career working with hip-hop outfit A Tribe Called Quest to later release his solo debut, "Don't Quit Your Day Job" on G.O.O.D. Music in 2007. He's contributed to two Billboard 200 No. 1 albums, A Tribe Called Quest's "Beats, Rhymes and Life" and most recently, Beyoncé's "4." In the middle of recording his follow-up, "Cons TV," Consequence left G.O.O.D. Music, feeling that Kanye, who served as executive producer, neglected the project, and didn't give him credit for his contributions to Ye's music. "It won't happen again. It's like when you're in somebody else's totem pole, so to speak, of course, the head is to receive the glory," Consequence says.
Check back tomorrow for Billboard.com's interview with Consequence where he speaks on collaborating with Beyoncé, leaving G.O.O.D. Music and his new, "dark" mixtape, "M.O.D. 3."
