Jack White Collaborates With Rapper Black Milk
Is there anything Jack White can't do? The former White Stripes frontman, Third Man Records owner, and all around rockin' dude just produced and played on his first hip-hop record, with Detroit MC Black Milk. In a post on his website, Black Milk recalls getting the call that White wanted to collaborate, flying out to Nashville with his band, recording, and then getting to perform live -- a concert that was recorded and will be released via Third Man. The two tracks, "Brain" (White on guitar) and "Royal Mega" (White on drums) are available for purchase on iTunes and on 7" vinyl from Third Man Records' site . Foxy Brown Mooning Case Dismissed
Today (July 12), a Brooklyn judge dropped charges that rapper Foxy Brown violated a court order by mooning her neighbor, Irene Raymond, after Raymond refused to testify. "While the district attorney's office has no doubt the defendant committed this crime, we have no other choice but to dismiss this case," Assistant District Attorney Robert Isdith said. Raymond filed a restraining order against Brown in 2008 after the MC plead guilty to menacing her with a cellphone. (NBC New York )
Jay-Z and Kanye's 'Watch The Throne' to Drop Next Year?
According to album release dates on the Island Def Jam website, Jay-Z and Kanye West's highly anticipated "Watch The Throne" album is due July 6, 2012. Given the history of delays and false reports -- including a claim that the project would come out earlier this month  -- it's difficult to determine if this is a simple glitch or if the artists really do need more time. Draco Malfoy Actor Turns Rapper
Tom Felton, who plays Harry's snobbish rival Draco Malfoy in the "Harry Potter" film series, said that he wants to begin a rapping career now that the series is over. "I was thinking of doing some N-Dubz-style stuff," he said. "I am looking to get into the grime rap UK scene." It seems Felton signed a record deal with Six String Productions in 2010, so he might be more Drake than Joaquin Phoenix. (The Sun )
Hold Steady'S Craig Finn Launches Solo Project
Craig Finn, frontman of rockers The Hold Steady, announced via his Tumblr that he is recording a solo project in Austin with producer Mike McCarthy. He also wrote that he and the rest of the band will begin recording their sixth album in September, following up 2010's "Heaven is Whenever." (Craig Finn's Tumblr )
George Michael To Be Questioned By Police Over 'News of the World' Tweets
George Michael's Twitter rants about News International CEO Rebekah Brooks have made their way to the ears and eyes of the Metropolitan Police. Last week, the pop star spoke out against Brooks and the phone-hacking scandal that has plagued U.K. tabloid News of the World, and now he says that the police want to ask him a few questions. On his Twitter , he wrote, "Just spoke to my lawyer.... apparently they want to interview me about my comments on Rebekah Brooks here on twitter..."
