While Fielder-Civil serves out his 32-month sentence for burglary and other offenses, his father Larry told TMZ that because of his co-dependent junkie past, Blake felt he had the tools to stage a successful intervention upon his March 2012 release date.
According to Sarah Aspin, his current girlfriend and mother of his newborn son, Fielder-Civil did nothing but cry over the weekend after hearing of Winehouse's death.
"Blake is the father of our son," Aspin told The Sun. "But I saw him and Amy together and I know they were really in love and they were soul mates."
Winehouse and Fielder-Civil began dating in 2005 and married two years later. From the start, the pair were best known for their outspoken love for drugs and alcohol. They split up in 2009, but their collective drug use did not end and both spent time in various rehab programs.
Though he has yet to issue a formal statement from behind bars, the 29-year-old Fielder-Civil is quoted by The Sun as lamenting, "I will never ever again feel the love I felt for her. Everybody who knew me and knew Amy knew the depth of our love. I can't believe she's dead."
Other reports claim Winehouse adjusted her will to deny Fielder-Civil, who claimed to had introduced heroin and crack to the singer, any rights to her estate.
