After releasing their first music videos one day apart from each other, "American Idol" season 10 winner Scotty McCreery and runner-up Lauren Alaina will issue their debut albums one week apart from each other this fall on Mercury Nashville/19 Recordings/Interscope. McCreery will release "Clear As Day" on Oct. 4, while Alaina's "Wildflower" drops Oct. 11.
"I've been working nonstop since the finale, so I'm really proud of it," says McCreery, who appeared on "Good Morning America" alongside Alaina on Friday (Aug. 12) and performed his single "I Love You This Big." When asked what his plans are following the album release, McCreery quipped, "I'm going back to school. It's my senior year!"
In a release, Alaina says that her debut will include "fast songs for people who like up-tempos that you can dance to, and there are also tearjerkers for people who like slower ballads," although she didn't say too much on camera on "GMA" -- the 16-year-old singer has bronchitis. However, she did perform her single, "Like My Mother Does," with her mother proudly watching from the sidelines.
After McCreery was crowned the season 10 champ last May, he and Alaina both inked deals with Mercury Nashville in June and headed out on the American Idol LIVE! tour in July. "I Love You This Big" is currently at No. 19 on the Country Songs chart, while "Like My Mother Does" sits at No. 43 on the chart.
