Lenny Kravitz  is experimenting with different audible styles for his upcoming album, "Black and White Ameirica" (August 30). One being hip-hop. Today (Aug. 17), two tracks off "Black and White America" hit the 'net. Each track features one of hip-hops most wanted, Drake  ("Sunflower") and Jay-Z  ("Boongie Drop," co-written by Swizz Beatz ).
"When I wrote 'Boongie Drop' I heard a rap in the middle, and I immediately heard Jay's voice," Kravitz tells Billboard.com on the dancehall/hip-hop cut. "We had collaborated twice before, so I called him and when I went to New York I put him on the track."
Kravitz recruited Drake for the feel-good track, "Sunflower." "I got on the phone with Drake for ('Sunflower') before he had even heard the track and he said, 'Yeah, I'll do it. I'm a fan and I love your work and I would love to be on it.' So that was cool."
