Last Friday Liam sued Noel for libel after Noel told journalists at a press conference that Oasis had backed out of a 2009 V Festival show because Liam was hungover. All Liam wanted from his brother was an apology, and that's just what he got: In a webchat for the launch of his new single, "The Death of You And Me," Noel admitted that Liam had a doctor's note that reccomended his brother not perform.
"For the record, it is a fact that he was diagnosed with laryngitis and it is a fact that he had a doctor's note to prove it," said Noel in the webcast. "I'd just like to say that if he gets offended by my opinions on such things then I apologise."
As The Sun reports, a source close to the Gallaghers said that Liam realized "Noel wasn't being vindictive-- he was just being cheeky. It was an anger that had built up over two years because he was so angry Oasis was over."
Since Oasis's mid-90s glory days, the Gallagher brothers have had their fair share of fueds, and in 2009 Noel finally left the band after a backstage altercation with Liam before a show. While Noel now performs as solo artist, Liam continues to play and record with the rest of the members of Oasis, though they've changed their name to Beady Eye .
Beady Eye released their debut album "Different Gear, Still Speeding" earlier this year, which peaked at #3 on the UK Album Charts and No. 31 on the Billboard 200. Noel is set to release, "Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds" on October 17, and debuted the first single, "The Death of You And Me" this past Sunday.
Of going on tour as a solo artist, Noel told The Sun, "I couldn't do 'Supersonic' or 'Ciagerettes and Alcohol' or Lyla'... That is a shame, that those songs will not be heard in the forseeable future anyway. I think it's sad as they're great stadium anthems."
