Hard rock group Rev Theory has canceled their fall tour due to a freak accident that left guitarist Julien Jorgensen with a severed tendon in his left hand.
While at a post-wedding reception in Las Vegas, Jorgensen injured his hand while standing next to someone who was attempting to open a beer bottle without a bottle opener. According to a press release, the bottle "slipped, shattered on the edge, and sliced the guitarist's left hand on the follow through."
While Jorgensen has been operated on and is expected to make a full recovery, the band has scrapped its spot on a tour with Five Finger Death Punch , Hatebreed and All That Remains that is scheduled to kick off on Sunday (Oct. 16) in San Francisco. "I am super bummed that happened, and it is a freak accident," says Jorgensen. "It is a helpless feeling. I feel bad about dropping off the tour and disappointing the fans. As soon as I am able, we will be back on the road."
Rev Theory has also canceled its appearance at the 48 Hours Festival in Las Vegas next weekend. The Massachusetts-based group planned on touring behind its third album, "Justice," which debuted at No. 75 on the Billboard 200 in March.
