Pitbull will be the headliner of the inaugural Dodge Latin Music Miami Beach Half Marathon, taking place Dec. 11. The Miami stop is part of the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon series, which takes place both in the U.S. and abroad.
The ongoing series -- the next race is a 10k taking place in New York on Oct. 22 -- will continue in more than 25 cities, including international destinations. The Miami stop will highlight local bands along the race course at every mile, with Pitbull featured as the finish-line concert headliner.
The Rock 'n' Roll Marathon Series launched in 1998 as a combination of running, music and entertainment with live bands performing at every mile. Headliners have included acts like the Goo Goo Dolls, Chris Isaak, Bret Michaels and Chicago. The stops in the series include both marathons and half marathons and are part of a two-day weekend featuring a Health & Fitness Expo. Over 425,000 participants are expected to take part in the current series.
The Miami race starts and ends at Lummus Park in South Beach, with all runners receiving free entry to the Pitbull show. Over 10,000 runners are expected to attend. To register, please visit www.competitor.com .
