1000 No. 1s Video Series Day 27:
Steven Tyler Talks About Aerosmith Topping the Hot 100
2011 was the year that Billboard celebrated the 1000th No. 1 song on the Hot 100. As we look back on this year in music, we're celebrating that milestone with a month-long series of videos --- one for each day of December -- chatting with 31 of the hitmakers who rocketed to the top of the chart since its inception in 1958. SEE THE FULL CHART HERE.
"I Don't Want To Miss A Thing," which was penned by famed songwriter Diane Warren and prominently featured in the "Armageddon" soundtrack, spent four weeks at No. 1 beginning Sept. 5. 1998 , knocking Brandy and Monica 's "The Boy Is Mine" out of the top slot. Tyler explains that part of the tune's success was the "the magic of [producer] Jerry Bruckheimer calling me up and saying, 'We're doing a movie called 'Armageddon.' Your daughter [Liv Tyler] is in it. And I want four Aerosmith songs plus the one you did with Diane Warren.'"
Be sure to come back tomorrow (Dec. 28) for the next 1000 No. 1s video: Enrique Iglesias talks about his No. 1s, "Be With You" and "Bailamos."
