"You've given me everything that I will need / To make it through this crazy thing called life," Underwood sings on "Mama's Song." "And I know you watched me grow up and only want what's best for me / And I think I found the answer to your prayers."
"Play On" reunites Underwood with longtime producer Mark Bright and writer Brett James, but it also finds her branching out a bit. The "American Idol" winner teamed up with Mike Elizondo (Eminem , Dr. Dre ) to co-write "Cowboy Casanova" with James, and she's also been working with pop hitmakers Kara DioGuardi and Max Martin.
Underwood's 2007 album, "Carnival Ride," debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and went on to spend 96 weeks on the chart. It has sold 2,954,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
