Celebs dressed to the nines hit downtown New York City to honor Janet Jackson and others for their dedication to finding a cure for AIDS.
Kicking off New York Fashion Week last Thursday (Feb. 7), stars like Sarah Jessica Parker, Cee Lo Green and Lindsay Lohan stepped out for a black tie affair -- the annual amfAR New York gala at Cipriani Wall Street -- to support AIDS research.
Honorees included designer and AmFar chairman and Kenneth Cole and pop music icon Janet Jackson. Billboard was there to talk to Cole about the evening.
“We’re celebrating how far we’ve come in many ways,” Cole said. “And we’re holding hands and getting focused on going the distance.” Though Jackson skipped the red carpet, other guests were quick to talk about their favorite Janet moments.
"When we were young the video for 'Pleasure Principle,'" recalled Ce Lo fondly. “Oh man, she was at the top.”
The night was hosted by Sarah Jessica Parker, featured a special performance by Cee Lo and also honored model Heidi Klum. Check out the clip above to hear what she had to say, as well as model Chrystal Renn and talk show host Alexa Chung.
