MetroPCS and Internet devices manufacturer ZTE is sponsoring Juanes’ upcoming nationwide tour. The sponsorship was announced just hours after Juanes performed on the Grammy telecast Sunday. He also took home a trophy his “MTV Unplugged Deluxe Edition” (Universal Latin Music), which won for best Latin album.
Juanes' Loud & Unplugged Tour begins May 17 in Bakersfield, Calif. A total of 24 shows are scheduled to take place through June. Other stops include Los Angeles, El Paso, New York City, Atlanta and a final show in Tampa, Fla.
The concept of the tour will echo the charm and intimacy of the unplugged album, which will put fans in an intimate theater setting.
To kick off the announcement of shows Juanes is scheduled to perform at a private concert with 600 fans Monday (Feb. 11) at El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles. Additionally, fans will have a chance to meet Juanes in person as part of the upcoming tour.
MetroPCS and ZTE will connect consumers with Juanes through Facebook chats, MetroPCS store appearances, ticket giveaways, access to pre-concert sound checks and exclusive video blogs, among other offerings.
