On the Grammys red carpet, stars from Frank Ocean to Miranda Lambert share memories of the legendary vocalist.
The 55th Grammy Awards on Sunday (February 10) came one day shy of the one-year anniversary of Whitney Houston's tragic death. Many stars from Frank Ocean to Miranda Lambert, took time on the Grammys red carpet to share their favorite Whitney memories with Billboard's cameras.
A wide variety of artists expressed their admiration. Grammy-winning singer Anita Baker remembered Houston hurrying back from a London premiere of "The Bodyguard" to deliver a pitch-perfect performance at New York's Radio City Music Hall. Songwriter Claude Kelly remembered working with Houston on her last album, and the wise words of creative encouragement she gave him. And National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences president Neil Portnow remembered how impressed he was to meet "the person behind the voice" for the first time.
The night before the 2013 Grammys, a number of artists including Miguel and Dave Grohl chimed in with their thoughts about Whitney on the red carpet of Houston mentor Clive Davis' Pre-Grammy Gala.
