Red Light Management has opened a Nashville office, Billboard.biz has learned. Founded by Coran Capshaw, the Charlottesville, Va.-based company has a roster that includes Dave Matthews Band, Trey Anastasio, Robert Randolph, Los Lobos and many others.
With the Nashville opening, Greg Hill will be joining the company. Hill's current client list includes Phil Vassar, Jamie O'Neal, Rodney Atkins and Christian act Shane & Shane. In addition to running Red Light, Capshaw is also the founder of ATO Records (with Matthews) and Musictoday.
"Greg Hill will be a great asset to our company's continuing growth," Capshaw tells Billboard.biz. He currently operates offices in Charlottesville and New York and is known for his touring and artist marketing successes.
"He has accomplished what everybody wants to accomplish and he's kept the fire, and for me that's what it's all about," Hill says. "We started talking several months ago about his desire to get in Nashville, and the experience, assets and resources he could bring to a Nashville management firm. So we will continue to provide the same service to our clients in a lot of ways, we'll just have access to a lot more resources."
Hill says he will be actively seeking new management clients in Nashville for Red Light, and not necessarily mainstream country acts. "It starts with the music and for me it's about finding acts that you feel like you know what you can do with them," says Hill. "You share a vision with the artists that you can grow them, whatever that format."
