Richard Sanders is the new head of global marketing for Sony BMG Music Entertainment, overseeing the department's staff and working to create and implement marketing and release strategies for the label group's projects and artists. He'll be based out of New York and reports to CEO Rolf Schmidt-Holtz.
Sanders was most previously executive VP/GM for RCA Records, where he was since 2001. He co-founded V2 Records in 1996 with Richard Branson and served as president of its North American operations. Sanders joined Arista in 1991 as head of artist development, where he oversaw Sarah McLachlan and Annie Lennox's careers, as well as helped develop OutKast and TLC.
