Producer 9th Wonder, formerly of Little Brother, and rapper Buckshot, of Black Moon and Boot Camp Clik, have re-teamed for their follow-up album titled "The Formula," due April 15th via Duck Down Records.
The album's first single, "Go All Out," featuring Carlitta Durand, has already been serviced to radio while the video, which stars Charlie Murphy, has been shot as well.
"Every song is dealing with a topic. Each track specifically has a formula, hence where the title of the album came from. I am the formula and I found the formula with 9th Wonder," said Buckshot via a statement. "I've always had a certain sound within hip-hop and 9th Wonder helps bring out my unique style. We share a comfort level that allows me to be at ease when it comes to recording and that natural sound translates into great music."
In addition, two other videos for "The Formula" have already been shot, one for "Hold It Down" featuring Talib Kweli and another for the LP's title track which will feature 3D animation.
9th Wonder and Buckshot released their first project in 2005 titled "Chemistry" via Duck Down.
9th Wonder recently produced the lead single for Erykah Badu's forthcoming LP, "Nu Amerykah," titled "Honey." He's also slated to release a solo album, "The Wonder Years," on Asylum Records later this year.
Buckshot recently created original music for ESPN's 2008 Men's College Basketball Programming, along with producing the title track for The History Channel's "Gangland" series. He can also be heard on Lil Wayne's upcoming mixtape on the remix to "Who Got The Props," featuring Wayne, which will be available in a couple of weeks.
