Nike has joined forces with DJ/producer A-Trak for "Running Man: Nike + Original Run," the fourth installment of the "Nike + Original Run Series." The set is June 24 via Nike Sport Music.
The debut single from the album, which is A-Trak's first, will be "Say Whoa," featuring Kid Cudi, who is signed to the DJ's Fool's Gold label.
The 45-minute set, composed specifically for runners, mixes electro and hip-hop and will be used as promotions for "The Nike + Human Race," a running event to be held on Aug. 31. Approximately 1 million runners in 25 cities across the globe are expected to partake in the one-day event, which aims to bring sports and music together.
"Making a 45-minute piece was interesting in terms of arrangement," A-Trak said in a statement. "Here, a guy is running and it's all about pacing. You want to keep him in the zone, you want to keep his attention, but at the same time there's much more room to spread out than on a record I might produce for a club."
A-Trak's "Running Man: Nike + Original Run" will exclusively be available for $9.99 in the Nike Sport Music section of the iTunes Store. Nike Sport Music launched on June 29, 2006 by Nike.
