Stephen Ferrera has been appointed executive VP of A&R for Island and Mercury Records. Ferrera reports to David Massey, president of Mercury Records, and is based in New York.
Ferrera moves to Island and Mercury from RCA Music Group where he was senior VP of A&R/staff producer for the past eight years. He was instrumental in projects by Leona Lewis and Kelly Clarkson, among many others. Prior to joining RCA, Ferrera was head of A&R/staff producer for Jazz & classics at Capitol Records.
He began his executive career in 1994, as head of A&R/producer at the Chrysalis Group's UK record company The Echo Label.
