Mega Films, the production company launched by Spanish Broadcasting System, is releasing its first English language film, "Falling Awake."
In keeping with the company's focus on music-centric content, the film, which will be released in select theaters in New York, Miami and Puerto Rico in September, tells the story of a young man (Andrew Cisneros) in the Bronx who struggles to launch his career as a musician while torn by loyalties and obligations with his family and neighborhood.
The movie, which will premiere at the Brooklyn International Film Festival June 7 and 8, was directed by Agustin. This is Mega Films' second major production. Last year, the company produced "Gabriel, Amor Inmortal," a TV drama series starring Puerto Rican singer Chayanne that aired on SBS' TV station La Mega.
