Steffen Muller has been appointed as managing director Warner Music Entertainment Central Europe, based in Hamburg, with effect from Sept. 1.
Since 1998, Muller has been general manager and partner of the Berlin-based label X-cell Records, where he was responsible for the success of artists such as Sarah Connor and Texas Lightning.
"Under his leadership we will continue the new strategic orientation of Warner Music Entertainment and will put the entertainment concept into even more focus," said Bernd Dopp, chairman and CEO Warner Music Central and Eastern Europe, in a statement. "Together with him and the artist team around Rita Flügge-Timm, I am looking forward to continuing the success story of Warner Music Entertainment."
Muller added: "Warner Music Entertainment offers the ideal environment to successfully practise the new philosophy of music marketing. I am looking forward to creating and realizing new and modern campaigns together with Bernd Dopp and the Warner Music Entertainment team."
Muller succeeds Lars Ingwersen who left Warner Music Entertainment in July to become managing director of Hamburg-based peermusic Publishing with effect from Sept. 1. (Billboard.biz, July 17).
