UM360 Inc., the wholly-owned artist management company of Universal Music Japan, has signed an exclusive management contract with Jeff Miyahara -- one of Japan's hottest contemporary producer/songwriters.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Tokyo-based Miyahara's first breakout hit was 2008's "Kiminosubeteni", a hip-hop track he produced for Spontania featuring JUJU, which sold over 3.5 million digital downloads, according to Universal Music Japan.
Since then the songwriter has produced a string of Japanese chart-topping songs including "Sunaoninaretara" by JUJU featuring Spontania, "Ashitagakurunara" by JUJU featuring Jay'ed and "Sad To Say" by Jasmine.
He has also produced Top 10 albums for Meisa Kuroki ("Hellcat") and Kana Nishino ("LOVE one") and collaborated with a number of U.S. artists including Speech from Arrested Development, Timbaland and Boyz II Men.
Atsushi Suzuki, president of UM360 Inc. said in a statement: "We are thrilled to be working with Jeff Miyahara. UM360 Inc. is committed to developing the careers of the world's most exciting artists, and we are looking forward to a long and productive relationship with this unique and exciting talent."
