Ron Spaulding has been promoted to president of Fontana, UMGD's independent distribution arm. Spaulding, who was formerly executive VP and GM of Fontana, will continue to report to Jim Urie, president and CEO of UMGD.

Prior to joining Fontana, Spaulding served as executive VP and GM of Asylum and EastWest Records. He also served as the senior VP of sales at WEA and has also held senior posts at Elektra Entertainment Group and Priority Records.
