Live Nation Entertainment will today announce several key appointments to its New York office and North American Touring team, Billboard.biz has learned.
Veteran entertainment executive and concert promoter Alan Ostfield will fill the newly created position of President, North Atlantic, for Live Nation, encompassing the New York and Philadelphia regions. Jason Miller is now President of New York for Live Nation, replacing Kevin Morrow, who will return to his hometown of Los Angeles to join the North American Touring office as Senior Vice President. Legendary promoter Ron Delsener will continue in his role as Chairman of the New York market. Geoffrey Gordon remains President of Philadelphia, taking on an expanded role as tour producer.
"Alan comes to Live Nation with an incredible wealth of experience in managing major sports and entertainment businesses and facilities," Mark Campana, Co-President of North America Concerts, said in a prepared statement. "Jason Miller, who will be running our New York office, has deep artist relationships from his work over the last 20 years, and then add in the iconic Ron Delsener, I believe we have a big team playing in New York."
Ostfield is the former President & Chief Executive Officer of Palace Sports & Entertainment, where he was responsible for overall management of the Palace of Auburn Hills, DTE Energy Music Theatre and the Meadow Brook Music Festival. Prior to that, Ostfield was SVP and General Counsel for the San Diego Padres.
Miller most recently served as Live Nation's SVP of New York, where he booked a wide range of successful shows across the spectrum of Live Nation New York area venues, including the Roseland Ballroom, Irving Plaza, the Nikon Theater at Jones Beach, PNC Bank Arts Center, and others. Prior to New York, Miller was SVP of Music for Live Nation in Denver. Delsener, of course, has promoted concerts in New York for over 40 years.
Morrow, who was named president of live Nation New York in 2007, originally joined the House of Blues in 1994 as the talent buyer for the House of Blues on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles. In 1996, he was promoted to the Head of Talent for all House of Blues overseeing the talent buying teams for each venue and all House of Blues nationally branded tours, including Smokin' Grooves, Blink-182, Elvis Costello and many more.
Geoff Gordon has recently expanded his role to include Tour Producer, most recently working with the Jay-Z/Kanye West "Watch the Throne" tour.
