Plain White T's also had a good week on the British charts, climbing 3-2 with the single "Hey There Delilah" and entering at No. 3 with the album "Every Second Counts" (Angel/Hollywood). James Blunt's "1973" (Atlantic) climbed 10-4 on the singles list, where regular hitmakers Girls Aloud raced 64-5 with "Sexy! No No No" (Fascination/Polydor).
"Ayo Technology" (Interscope) by 50 Cent featuring Justin Timberlake & Timbaland climbed 11-8 and "She's So Lovely" by British trio Scouting For Girls improved 19-9. For the second week running, Elvis Presley had a No. 14 entry with a reissue in RCA's current singles program, this time with "(Let Me Be Your) Teddy Bear." All four chart-eligible Presley reissues to date have peaked between No. 11 and No. 14.
Sheffield band Reverend and the Makers climbed 30-16 with their second U.K. top 20 hit, "He Said He Loved Me" (Wall Of Sound), ahead of next Monday's release of their first album, "The State of Things." Armand Van Helden's latest dance crossover "I Want Your Soul" (Southern Fried) soared 38-19.
The album chart saw Newton Faulkner's "Hand Built by Robots" (Ugly Truth) fall to No. 4 after two weeks at the top, and a No. 5 entry for south London band Athlete's third album "Beyond the Neighbourhood" (Parlophone). Scottish duo the Proclaimers arrived at No. 13 with "Life With You" (W14).
Across Europe, Mika is in a sixth consecutive week at No. 1 on Billboard's European Top 100 Albums chart, while Timbaland's "The Way I Are" (Interscope) featuring DOE and Keri Hilson leads Eurochart Hot 100 Singles for a third week.
