'X-Factor' Stars Top Last U.K. Chart Of '07

Winners of "The X-Factor" continued to dominate the U.K. bestsellers as the British chart year ended. Current champion Leon Jackson entered a second week at No. 1 on the singles chart with "When You Believe," while Syco Music/Sony BMG labelmate Leona Lewis started a seventh atop the album list with "Spirit," and held at No. 2 with the single "Bleeding Love."

The singles chart contained many big hits of recent weeks, and in some cases longer ago, that are enjoying a "lap of honor." "Apologize" (Interscope) by Timbaland presents OneRepublic climbed back 10-4, Take That's "Rule the World" (Polydor) rose 7-5 and "Valerie" (Columbia) by Mark Ronson featuring Amy Winehouse was up 8-6, Girls Aloud's "Call the Shots" (Fascination/Polydor) increased 9-7 and "Heartbroken" (2Nv/All Around The World) by T2 featuring Jodie rebounded 11-8.

The Hoosiers, the Anglo-Swedish trio who have been one of 2007's breakthrough acts in the U.K., raced back 29-10 with their recent second hit, "Goodbye Mr. A" (RCA), while its predecessor "Worried About Ray" returned to the top 40 at No. 25. The other most notable chart feat of the week was recorded by Def Jam's Rihanna, who has no fewer than three climbers. "Don't Stop the Music" jumped 20-16, the megahit "Umbrella" improved 38-18 and "Hate That I Love You" featuring Ne-Yo soared 37-22.

Beneath Lewis on the album chart, Westlife's "Back Home" (S/Sony BMG) continued at No. 2 while Take That's "Beautiful World" zoomed 8-3 and Amy Winehouse's "Back To Black" (Universal Island) was up 10-5 (although the deluxe edition of the album fell 9-15).
