The X-ecutioners will be touring in support of their upcoming Loud/Columbia release, "Built from Scratch," which has been generating play at rock radio with "It's Goin' Down" featuring Linkin Park, currently No. 26 on Billboard's Modern Rock Tracks tally. Before the act takes the stage, clips featuring extreme sports athletes such as surfer Kelly Slater and skateboarder Tony Hawk will screen.
"We're looking forward to it," group member Rob Swift told Billboard recently. "It's going to be an upscale tour. All the other s*** that we have done in the past has been for independent projects, and when we toured we were on a limited budget. Being on Loud -- being on a major -- we're going to be able to spend more and hopefully reach more places and more people."
Acclaimed rap act the Coup released its fourth album, "Party Music," last November on independent label 75 Ark, and Muhammad is a regular collaborator with the X-ecutioners. Tickets for the tour will cost $15, and a spokesperson notes that more dates may be added. Updates will be posted on the tour's official Web site.
