Wyclef Jean

Wyclef Jean, "Wyclef Jean" (Columbia)
Release Date: March 2010

For the first half of his upcoming album, Wyclef Jean plans to give fans a one-man show. "The reason this album is called 'Wyclef Jean' is because the first seven songs are just me and my guitar," Jean says. "This album is very important for that reason, and I'm very excited." But that doesn't mean he didn't tap his famous friends for assistance on the other seven songs of the acoustic-heavy set. Natasha Bedingfield appears on a track called "Tonight," lead single "Hold On" features reggae artist Mavado, and Lil Wayne appears on the Runnerz-produced "Seventeen," which Jean likens to their previous collaboration, "Sweetest Girl (Dollar Bill)." Also on his guest wish list: Young Jeezy ("because I love his rock'n'roll-sounding voice," he says) and Amy Winehouse.
