Katy Perry's 'Teenage Dream' Yields Sixth Hot 100 Top 10

With a 15-10 advance, "The One That Got Away" makes the album just the seventh ever to generate that many top 10 hits.

Rihanna's 'Love' Still Leads Hot 100, Katy Perry Back in Top 10

Rihanna tallies a fourth week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with "We Found Love" (featuring Calvin Harris), while Katy Perry, meanwhile, adds a sixth Hot 100 top 10 from her album "Teenage Dream."

Could new sale pricing of Katy Perry's "The One That Got Away" help push it to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart in the coming weeks?

The track has been discounted to 69 cents in the U.S. iTunes Store -- a little more than half of the $1.29 regular price of most current hits. It's the only song (at press time) priced less than $1.29 among the top 75-selling singles in the iTunes Store.

The new low price comes shortly before Perry serves as host of the Dec. 10 edition of NBC's "Saturday Night Live."

Whatever juice the single receives from the sale price won't be reflected on the Hot 100 chart until next week. This week's tally (which posts in full on our site on Thursday, Dec. 8) includes sales data for the week ending Dec. 4.

"The One That Got Away" is the sixth top 10 Hot 100 single from Perry's "Teenage Dream," making it one of only seven albums to score six or more Hot 100 top 10s in history. Last week, the song rose 10-9 on the chart.

Perry famously notched a fifth No. 1 from "Teenage" when "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)" hit the top on Aug. 27. Only two albums have ever generated five No. 1 singles -- "Teenage Dream" and Michael Jackson's "Bad."

With "The One That Got Away's" low price and continuing radio airplay growth, it's expected to rise on the Hot 100. The song was the Hot 100'Äôs top Airplay Gainer last week, bounding 18-10 on Radio Songs (70 million in audience, up 19%, according to Nielsen BDS).

And certainly, don't rule out it becoming her record-breaking sixth No. 1 single from "Teenage Dream."
