As Whitney Houston singles and albums re-entered the U.K. sales charts yesterday (19) with over 200,000 units sold across the week, top sales honors went to Scottish singer-songwriter Emeli Sandé. Her debut album "Our Version of Events" opened at No. 1 and the latest single from it, "Next To Me," at No. 2, beaten only by "Hot Right Now" by DJ Fresh featuring Rita Ora, which achieved the highest first-week singles sales of the year to date, 128,000.

Sandé sold 113,000 units of her first album and 103,000 of its new hit last week, according to the Official Charts Company. After guest appearances on hit singles by Chipmunk, Wiley and Professor Green, she reached No. 2 last August with her first solo success "Heaven" and No. 21 in December with "Daddy." "Our Version of Events" becomes the second album of 2012 with six-figure opening sales, after Lana Del Rey's "Born To Die," which scored an initial 117,000. Del Rey fell to No. 2 on the new survey after two weeks at the summit.

Houston's untimely death sent two Arista/Sony Music Entertainment compilations back into the top 40, "The Greatest Hits" at No. 7 and "The Essential" at No. 40. Three of her classic hits made the singles top 40, with nine more inside the top 75. "I Will Always Love You" led the line at No. 14, then "I Wanna Dance With Somebody" at No. 20 and "One Moment In Time" at No. 40. "My Love Is Your Love" reappeared at No. 42, "I Have Nothing" No. 44, "How Will I Know" No. 56, "The Greatest Love of All" No. 58, "Saving All My Love For You" No. 59, "It's Not Right But It's Okay" No. 61, "Million Dollar Bill" No. 62, "Run To You" No. 67 and "Where Do Broken Hearts Go" No. 74. Houston's album catalog sold 73,000 and her singles 127,000, and her 1992 movie "The Bodyguard" also re-entered the OCC's video chart (which includes DVD, Blu Ray and other sales) at No. 9.

Back on the album list, Adele's "21" climbed back 5-3, and its predecessor "19" 23-9. Three tracks from "21" are on the climb yet again, "Rolling In The Deep" returning to the top 75 at No. 39, "Someone Like You" 58-41 and "Set Fire To The Rain" 64-57. Gotye, whose "Somebody That I Used To Know" (Universal Island) moved to the top of the singles chart last week, saw the track fall to No. 3 but his debut album "Making Mirrors" album started at No. 4. Rebecca Ferguson's "Heaven" climbed again, 16-10. Sony's "Be My Baby" is in a fourth week atop the compilation chart.

"Hot Right Now" is the second consecutive U.K. No. 1 single for DJ Fresh, aka dubstep producer-artist Daniel Stein, after "Louder" featuring Sian Evans hit the top last July. The new singles chart also featured a 26-9 for pop band One Direction's "One Thing" and a No. 16 debut for Nicki Minaj's "Starships."
