White Stripes Rock 'Under Blackpool Lights'

Third Man/V2 has set a Dec. 7 release date for the White Stripes' first live DVD, "Under Blackpool Lights." As previously reported, the set was taped earlier this year at the Empress Ballroom in Blackpool, England, and shot on super 8 and 16 mm film by famed director Dick Carruthers (the Who, Led Zeppelin). Screenings are in the works for select U.S. cities prior to the release date.

Beyond such rock radio favorites as "Seven Nation Army," "There's No Home for You Here," "The Hardest Button to Button" and "Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground," the DVD sports covers of Dolly Parton's "Jolene," Bob Dylan's "Outlaw Blues" and Son House's "Death Letter."

"Jolene" will be released Nov. 15 as a single in the U.K., backed by live versions of "Black Math" and "Do."

The Stripes are gearing up to begin work on the follow-up to 2003's "Elephant," which debuted at No. 6 on The Billboard 200 and has sold 1.62 million copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
