White Drafts Clapton, Knopfler For New Album

Southern singer/songwriter Tony Joe White has enlisted the help of friends like Eric Clapton, Mark Knopfler and Michael McDonald for his new album, "Uncovered." White will release it Sept. 5 through his own record label, Swamp Records, through which he's released two other of his records.

Clapton plays guitar and provides vocals on an updated version of White's "Did Somebody Make a Fool Out of You," while McDonald appears on "Baby Don't Look Down" and Knopfler guests on "Not One Bad Thought." Late country great Waylon Jennings' voice can be heard on "Shakin' the Blues" from one of his last recording sessions before his death in 2002. J.J. Cale adds two verses to "Louvelda."

Along with "Did Somebody Make a Fool," the set features two other White remakes: "Taking the Midnight Train" and "Rainy Night in Georgia."

"Uncovered" is White's first studio album since 2004's "The Heroines." He is in the midst of planning a supporting tour for the fall.

Here is the track list for "Uncovered":

"Run for Cover"
"Not One Bad Thought"
"Did Somebody Make a Fool Out of You"
"Louvelda"
"Rebellion"
"Shakin' the Blues"
"Rainy Night in Georgia"
"Baby, Don't Look Down"
"Taking the Midnight Train"
"Keeper of the Fire"
