"Weird" Al Yankovic has announced that his parody of Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" has been approved by the pop star and will appear on his next album, after he was initially told that Gaga had rejected his riff on her hit single.

Yankovic released a lyric video of "Perform This Way" on YouTube yesterday (Apr. 20), along with a lengthy blog post in which he accused Gaga of making him "jump through hoops" to present a fully recorded version of the parody to her before she ultimately rejected it. In a new post on his blog, however, Yankovic writes that Gaga's manager has admitted to never passing the parody along to the pop star for approval, and had decided to reject it himself.

"[Gaga's manager]'s sorry. And Gaga loves the song," Yankovic writes. "I'm thrilled on many levels to hear this, because 1) I truly respect and admire Gaga as an artist and it pained me to think of her as having less than a great sense of humor, and 2) it means I GET TO PUT OUT MY ALBUM!"

"Perform This Way," which will be the lead single off Yankovic's follow-up to 2006's "Straight Outta Lynwood," pokes fun at Lady Gaga's over-the-top performing style and zany fashion choices. "I might be wearin' Swiss cheese or maybe covered with bees/It doesn't mean I'm crazy -- I perform this way," Yankovic sings.

Yankovic also notes in the blog post that all proceeds from "Perform This Way" and its forthcoming music video will go to the Human Rights Campaign. "Thank you, Gaga. And thanks to everybody who had my back," Yankovic writes.
