Voices On The Verge Ready To Tour

The singer/songwriter collective Voices On The Verge -- comprised of Beth Amsel, Jess Klein, Erin McKeown, and Rose Polenzani -- is gearing up for a three-month U.S. tour in support of its Rykodisc debut, "Live in Philadelphia." The dates begin Jan. 27 in Charleston, W. Va., and wrap April 27 in Holyoke, Mass. The artists will also perform Saturday (Jan. 12) on CBS' "Early Show."

Amsel, Klein, McKeown, and Polenzani bonded after being booked to perform together at a 1998 show in Northampton, Mass. Rather than playing their own solo sets, the artists collaborated with each other freely, leading to occasional shows under the Voices On The Verge moniker. "Live in Philadelphia," produced by Rykodisc president George Howard, comprises three songs by each artist. The set bowed at No. 42 on Billboard's Top Independent Albums chart late last month.
