Someone Like Adele May Grace Vogue's March Issue

Rumor has it that Billboard Artist of the Year Adele will be striking a pose on the cover of Vogue this spring. WWD is reporting that Vogue, the world's most influential fashion magazine, has recruited the "Someone Like You" singer for the March 2012 cover story.

YouTube hitmakers Vazquez Sounds comes bounding in at No. 17 on Billboard's Social 50 chart, capping a wild month for the Mexican kid trio. It marks the second-highest debut ever on the chart since it launched a year ago. Only Rebecca Black, of "Friday" fame, bowed higher -- at No. 9.

The chart's rankings are determined by activity monitored on YouTube, Vevo, Facebook, Twitter, MySpace and iLike, using a formula that blends weekly additions of friends/fans/followers along with weekly artist page views and weekly song plays.

Vazquez Sounds (comprising siblings Abelardo, Gustavo and Angie Vazquez, whose ages range from 10 to 15-years old) made waves on YouTube with its cover of Adele's "Rolling in the Deep." Since it was uploaded to the trio's YouTube channel on Nov. 10, the clip has racked up more than 18 million views.

"Rolling in the Deep" "All I Want for Christmas..."

Last week, on Dec. 13, the group released a cover of Mariah Carey's "All I Want For Christmas Is You," which has scooped up nearly 7 million views. It is currently the 17th most-viewed clip of the month among all YouTube videos (not just music).

And the news gets even better: the group has pacted with Sony Music and currently has the top two selling songs in the iTunes Mexico Store.

Elsewhere on the Social 50 chart this week, British singer-songwriter Alex Day strides in at No. 47 thanks to the buzz generated by his single "Forever Yours." The track is in the running to debut in the top five of the Official U.K. Singles Chart this weekend (Sunday, Dec. 25) and has a shot to be the "Christmas No. 1" (a very big deal in that territory). His YouTube channel is currently the third-most subscribed of all time in the U.K., while his "Forever" clip has claimed more than 2 million views

Back in the top 10, Justin Bieber, Adele and Shakira are non-movers at Nos. 1-3 while Eminem is up one slot to No. 4. Rihanna slips a rung to No. 5, Lady Gaga is stationary at No. 6 and Katy Perry rises 9-7. Pitbull creeps up a pair of positions to No. 8, LMFAO drops 7-9 and Taylor Swift returns to the top 10, rising 12-10.
