Noted U.K. electronic music label Warp Records -- home to such acts as Aphex Twin, Autechre, Boards Of Canada, and Red Snapper -- has inked an exclusive U.S. distribution deal with Caroline Distribution. Warp, which has licensed its titles to such U.S. labels as Sire, TVT, Nothing, and Matador, also plans to open a New York office by year's end.
The first releases under the new deal, due Oct. 31, are Two Lone Swordsmen's "Tiny Reminders" and Plaid's "Trainer." Caroline director of purchasing Michael Bull says Warp act Aphex Twin will likely stay with Sire, and Red Snapper will remain on Matador.
New albums from Autechre and Boards Of Canada are expected early next year.
