The day before his and Atticus Ross' Oscar win for "The Social Network," Trent Reznor was in Beverly Hills at the Society of Composers & Lyricists' annual pre-Oscar champagne reception, where he spoke briefly about a different project with Ross -- the second release from How to Destroy Angels, their band with Reznor's wife, Mariqueen Maandig.

"I just finished recording a How to Destroy Angels project with my wife," Reznor told Billboard. "We have to mix it. [It will be out in the] early fall, most likely."

Like the first How to Destroy Angels EP, they plan to release the music for free digitally at a low bit rate, and charge for the physical product as well as the sonically superior digital downloads. Reznor first employed the strategy in the release of Nine Inch Nails' album "Ghosts I-IV" in 2008. The first How to Destroy Angels EP was released last June on the band's website.

If the release goes according to plan, it will be out before Reznor and Ross' next score, for "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo," which will hit theaters in December.
