Travis, Guster, Toby Lightman and Sixpence None The Richer's Leigh Nash are among the acts contributing newly recorded covers for the soundtrack to the WB series "Everwood," due Oct. 19 via Nettwerk. The set also features previously released covers from Jason Mraz, Jars Of Clay, Throwing Muses frontwoman Kristin Hersh and Stereophonics.

The bulk of the material dates from the 1970s and was utilized as creative inspiration by "Everwood" creator/executive producer Greg Berlanti. "They're warm, heartfelt, inspiring, nostalgic, sometimes a little too sentimental, but always worth the listen," he says. "And at their best, they make you feel grateful for the moment."

Travis, Nash and Hersh tackle the respective Cat Stevens songs "Don't Be Shy," Father and Son" and "Trouble." Guster covers Jimmy Cliff's "The Harder They Come," while Lightman runs through the late Jim Croce's "That's Not the Way It Feels (Operator)."

Mraz interprets Seals & Crofts' "Summer Breeze," while Stereophonics chime in with Roberta Flack's "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face." Also featured on the album is Jars Of Clay's "Lonely People" (America), David Mead's "Only Living Boy in New York" (Simon & Garfunkel) and the original song "Love Song," voiced by "Everwood" star Treat Williams.
