In his first appearance on the MTV Video Music Awards stage since 1993, Tony Bennett will pay tribute the late Amy Winehouse during the Sunday ceremony.
The network announced on Monday that Bennett will introduce the tribute, which includes never-before-seen footage from their March recording session together at Abbey Road Studios in London. The session was Winehouse's last, as the duo recorded "Body and Soul" for Bennett's upcoming Duets II album, out Sept. 20.

"It was a thrill to record with Amy Winehouse and when you listen to the recording of 'Body and Soul,' it is a testament to her artistic genius and her brilliance as one of the most honest musicians I have ever known,' the Grammy Award Winning crooner said in a statement.
Winehouse won't be the only artist celebrated at the annual awards show, as MTV has also confirmed a tribute to Britney Spears as well.
The 2011 MTV Video Music Awards air live from the Nokia Theatre on Aug. 28 at 9 p.m. ET, with a tape delay for the west coast broadcast.
